McDonough County Road and Bridge Committee met Feb. 10.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
The McDonough County Road and Bridge Committee held their monthly meeting at 6:00 P.M. The Meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201.
Committee Members present included Vice Chair Mike Cox, Lee Calvert, Eric Chapman, George Dixon and Rod McGrew.
Member absent was Dick Marcott, Craig Foster, and Chair Dave Cortelyou.
Other persons in attendance: Dave Cadwalader, Scott Hance, David Grove, Patrick Stout, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and Committee Secretary Stacey Alexander.
Vice Chair Mike Cox called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M.
Review Minutes from January 6, 2022
Member Dixon moved with a second by Member Chapman to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Resolution 2130-96 and Resolution 2230-98
Member Chapman moved with a second by Member Calvert to approve Resolution 2130-96, and Resolution 2230-98. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Bridge Inspection Project Manager
There are IDOT documents that need to be signed, IDOT said that County Chair Schwerer can sign as both the team leader, and the project manager.
A motion was made by Member Calvert moved with a second by Member McGrew for Scott Hance to be the project manager. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Discuss Salary for Interim Engineer
Scott Hance has requested to be paid $10.00 an hour more while he is acting as the County Engineer.
Member Dixon moved with a second by Member Chapman to pay Scott Hance $10.00 an hour more while acting as County Engineer. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Project Update
None.
January Work Report
Report given by Dave Cadwalader.
Member Dixon moved with a second by Member Calvert to approve the January Work Report. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Claims
Member McGrew moved with a second by Member Calvert to approve the claims submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Other Business
Vice Chair Cox informed the Committee that he has talked to the Hancock County Engineer, and a person in Adams County to see if they know anyone that would be interested in the Engineer position here.
County Chair Comments
County Chair Schwerer informed the Committee that they have not had any applicants for the County Engineer position, and they will advertise the position again.
Public Comment
Scott Hance asked about the department receiving over time on days when the Courthouse is closed. They are questioning if the highway policy was removed with the new handbook in 2019. David Grove asked if we were doing away with the 1998 highway policy book. This will be discussed at the March meeting.
