In a Facebook post on March 21, Rep. Travis Weaver (R-Pekin) encouraged his constituents to visit Springfield.

"Springfield is home to plenty of historic sites, activities, and, of course, the Illinois State Capitol," Weaver wrote. "There are tons to see and do, and my office would be happy to help you set up your trip. I hope to see you down here soon!"

An informational graphic included in his Facebook post shared a few destinations for visitors to enjoy when planning a trip to Springfield.

Those include the following: The Illinois State Museum, 502 S. Spring St., Springfield, free admission. The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, 212 N 6th St., Springfield. An admission fee or gift certificate is required. The Lincoln Home National Historic Site, 8th Street and Jackson Street, Springfield. Admission is free but tickets are limited.

In his Facebook post, Weaver announced that his staff would hold office hours on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Chief of Staff Jorell Glass will be at Weaver’s district office on Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to noon. The office is located at 337 Court Street, in Pekin. On Thursdays from 8 a.m. to noon, Glass will be at Country Morning Coffee, 205 W 1st Street, in Kewanee.

Visitors can feel free to reach out to Weaver's office with any questions or concerns by calling (309) 270-6149. The office is located at 337 Court St., Pekin.

Weaver is a first-term state representative who grew up in Peoria County but currently resides in Edwards. Outside of legislation, he dedicates time to tutoring GED students. In addition, he is the chairman of the education committee at Wildlife Prairie Park and serves as a substitute teacher.
