City of Bushnell City Council met June 19.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Wilt called the meeting to order                      

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

*City Treasurer Betsy Rench stated that she is going to meet with Anthony Cervini from Springfield about doing the city audit next year.

Consent Agenda

Ald. Norton made a motion to approve the consent agenda which includes.

1. Approval of Minutes from June 5, 2023

2. Accept May Financial/Treasurers Report.

Ald. Webb seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ald. Coates “aye” Ald. Yocum absent

Ald. Webb “aye” Ald. Allen “aye”

Ald. Havens “aye” Ald. Burkholder “aye”

Ald. Norton “aye” Ald. Baker “aye”

Where upon Mayor Wilt declared the motion carried.

Ad hoc (Mayor’s Report)

*Mayor Wilt had breakfast on June 9, 2023 with a Graham Hospital official.

*Mayor Wilt went to Chicago last week and spoke at the National Academy of Science Engineering, Medicine about the affect that trains over 7500 ft. have on small communities.

*Mayor Wilt went to an open house for State Representative Michael Halpin on June 16th at his new office in Galesburg.

Personnel/Finance/Budget

*Next meeting June 29, 2023 @ City Hall 4:00

Public Works

*Nothing to report

Police/Liquor/ESDA

*Minutes from the 6/12/2023 meeting.

*Ald. Baker stated they are working on the Ordinance book.

*Ald. Baker stated they decided not to allow side by sides on the streets.

*Mayor Wilt stated that GFL wants to change the recycling day to Wednesdays, since they are having trouble getting it all done in one day.

Ald. Baker made a motion to move recycling to Wednesdays every other week instead of Thursdays. Ald. Norton seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ald. Havens “aye”    Ald. Allen “aye”

Ald. Norton “aye”     Ald. Baker “aye”

Ald. Lorton “aye”      Ald. Coates “aye”

Where upon Mayor Wilt declared the motion carried.

Real Estate/Parks/Recreation

*Ald. Webb stated they had a proposed change to the scope of the water main for the Splash park.

*Ald. Webb stated they are looking for alternatives for housing the Historical Society to recoup some space at the Rec. Center.

*Nothing to report

Economic Development

*Next meeting July 24, 2023 4:00 @ Depot

Attorney’s Report/Ordinances & Resolutions

*City Attorney Nick Tinsman stated he will have the Litter ordinance ready for the next meeting on July 5, 2023

Ald. Allen made a motion to Adjourn

Meeting was adjourned at 6:21
