City of Greenville Planning Commission met Sept. 11.

The Planning Commission meeting was called to order on September 11, 2023 at 6:00 PM by Chairman Jack Chism.
1. ROLL CALL
Committee Members Present: Planning Commission Member Brent Shaw, Planning Commission Member Chance Vohlken, Planning Commission Member Jack Chism, and Planning Commission Member Jane Nelson
Committee Members Absent:

A) Motion by Chance Vohlken, seconded by Brent Shaw, to approve August 15, 2023 Planning Commission minutes

4.1. -OPEN PUBLIC HEARING at 6:04 PM - Consideration of adding a Solar Energy ordinance
Jeff Ketten went over the request and presented staff notes. This is similar to Bond County ordinance, but the fee schedule is different.
Chance Vohlken asked if this will still have the requirements of decommissioning solar farms, as was implemented on a Conditional Use Permit issued to Sunpin Solar previously, and Ketten said yes.
Ketten added most residential services will fall below the 50 KW.
Brent Shaw stated this is not any different than other municipalities.
Public Hearing was closed at 6:11 PM.
Motion by Chance Vohlken, seconded by Jane Nelson, to approve the solar ordinance as presented and send to council for their consideration.
