Cities located within Hancock County had no change in the number of lawyers with active licenses compared to the previous month, according to the ARDC of the Supreme Court of Illinois.

In total, there were eight active legal licenses recorded in Hancock County in January.

The highest number of licenses were granted in Carthage (5).

The average salary for an attorney in Illinois is approximately $103,958 as of Jan. 2024, roughly ranging from $89,310 and $120,433.

Of the total nearly 96,000 lawyers registered in the state, more than 83,000 hold an active status. Interestingly, roughly one third of these lawyers are spread out and working in states other than Illinois.

Data refers to all lawyers who were actively practicing during this period.
