City of Greenville Planning Commission met Feb. 5.

4.1. December 18th minutes

Motion by Brent Shaw, seconded by Jane Nelson, Motion to approve the December 18, 2023 minutes

5. MATTERS OF CONSIDERATION

5.1. **OPEN PUBLIC HEARING** Vacate Second Street of the original town of Greenville, described as part of Second Street Right -of-Way bounded to the north by the south Right-of-Way line of Oak Street, and to the South by the North Right of-Way line of College Avenue, and containing 0.40 acres, more or less.

Matt Obermark - Concerned with traffic and children crossing from dance studio. Revisited alley with traffic only going north, suggested bollards for the street.

Mallory O'Dell - Concerned about parking, mentioned that court house employees park on 2nd Street.

Brent Shaw - Stated that we should start with the one-way traffic in the alley and see if that is enough

Motion to approve vacating Second Street of the original town of Greenville, described as part of Second Street Right -of-Way bounded to the north by the south Right-of-Way line of Oak Street, and to the South by the North Right-of-Way line of College Avenue, and containing 0.40 acres, more or less

5.2. Close the public hearing

Motion by Brent Shaw, seconded by Jane Nelson, Motion to close the public hearing.

Motion by Brent Shaw, seconded by Dennis Warren, Motion to approve the vacation of Second Street.
