Hammond and Anderson host successful Senior Expo in Carthage

State Representative Norine Hammond (R-Macomb) and Senator Neil Anderson (R-Andalusia) successfully held their First Annual Free Senior Expo in Carthage last Friday. The event featured more than 30 vendors and guests from across the area in attendance.

“Preventative care for our senior community is extremely important,” said Sen. Anderson. “It was a great opportunity to get so many organizations under one roof to talk and visit with our seniors.”

This year’s Expo included free screenings and services such as blood pressure screenings, A1C tests, strength screening, and Secretary of State mobile services.

“Senator Anderson and I were pleased to bring area seniors together for this wonderful expo,” said Rep. Hammond. “I want to thank all of the organizations and participants that helped make this a great event for our seniors in Hancock County.”

Senator Anderson and Representative Hammond plan to make this an annual event and look forward to hosting it again next year.

This year’s participants included: Alzheimer’s Association, Carthage Fire & Rescue, Carthage Police Department, Carthage Public Library, Evergreen Center, Hancock County ESDA, Hancock County Farm Bureau, Hancock County Health Department, Hancock County Public Transportation System, Hancock County Sheriff, Hancock County States Attorney’s Office, Hickory Grove, Illinois Department of Veteran Affairs, Illinois State Police, Maple Grove, MDH Home Health Care, Memorial Hospital, Meridian, Office of the Illinois Attorney General, Office of the Illinois Comptroller, Office of the Illinois Secretary of State, Office of the Illinois Treasurer, River Hills Village, The Center for Youth & Family Solutions, University of Illinois Extension, WellCare, Wesley Village
