Western Illinois Men's Golf to compete in Zach Johnson Invitational

The Leatherneck Men's Golf team is set to participate in the Zach Johnson Invitational on September 23 and 24 in Des Moines, Iowa. The tournament will feature 12 teams, including former Summit League opponents North Dakota and South Dakota. This marks Western Illinois University's first meet since their appearance at the SIUE Dolenc Invitational on September 9 and 10.

In their last outing, the Leathernecks finished in 18th place with a score of +53 at the SIUE Dolenc Invitational. Owen Howe led WIU, finishing T56 with a score of 222 (+9) in his first intercollegiate match. Nathan Tillman finished T69 with a score of 225 (+12), while Maverick Schwabe ended his first intercollegiate match at T79 with a score of 228 (+15). Teagan Hull also competed in his first collegiate match, finishing T84 with a score of 231 (+18). Luke Lofgren rounded out the team, finishing T98 with a score of 243 (+30).

The competition at the Zach Johnson Invitational includes teams from Drake, Bradley, DePaul, Green Bay, Houston Christian, Western Illinois, Indian Hills, Iowa State, Loyola Chicago, Murray State College, North Dakota, Northern Iowa, St. Thomas, and South Dakota.

The event will be held at Glen Oaks Country Club in Des Moines. The course is a par-71 that spans 6.950 yards. The two-day tournament features rounds one and two on Monday and round three on Tuesday. Both days will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 AM.
