State Senator Steve McClure (R-Springfield) has been recognized by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce as a “Champion of Free Enterprise” for his efforts to support businesses and job growth in Illinois.

“Illinois needs policies that help our businesses thrive so that they can create good jobs for the people of the state,” said Senator McClure. “It’s an honor to once again be recognized for my advocacy and work to promote sound economic policies that help our economy grow.”

The award is given to lawmakers who have worked towards economic development, job creation, and reducing regulatory burdens. The organization evaluates the voting records of state legislators and grants the award to those who have achieved a score of 85% or higher over the last two General Assemblies.

“Serving as Assistant Leader and Assistant Floor Leader for the Senate Republican Caucus, Senator McClure has consistently demonstrated himself to be a dependable advocate for the Illinois business community,” said Illinois Chamber President and CEO Lou Sandoval. “In recognizing his unwavering commitment to the business community, exemplary leadership, and his ongoing collaboration within the Caucus, we are proud to present Senator McClure with the Champion of Free Enterprise Award.”
