City of Bushnell City Council met Sept. 3.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Wilt called the meeting to order

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

*City Treasurer Betsy Rench stated she has a couple of adjustments to make on the budget.

Consent Agenda

Ald. Yocum made a motion to approve the consent agenda which includes.

1. Approval of Minutes from August 19, 2024

2. Approve July Financial Report

3. Approve & Pay August bills

Ald. Norton seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ald. Coates “aye” Ald. Yocum “aye”

Ald. Webb “aye” Ald. Allen “aye”

Ald. Havens “aye” Ald. Burkholder “aye”

Ald. Norton “aye” Ald. Baker “aye”

Where upon Mayor Wilt declared the motion carried.

Ad hoc (Mayor’s Report)

*Congratulations and Thank you to anyone of you that made a contribution to the success of the Fall Festival. This is the opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate each other! Our City Crews who kept things in line from garbage to clean-up and everything in between, thank you!!

*VFW has asked for the permission to enclose the parking lot to have a beer garden/DJ during the Grills Gone Wilt on 9/21. Mayor Wilt gave her consent.

*Fireman’s Open House 9/14/2024 11-1 pm.

*Grills Gone Wild 9/21/2024 VFW

*Ballon Rally this weekend.

Personnel/Finance/Budget

*Nothing to report

Public Works

*West Lagoon Storm Pump has been installed by TEST.

*Leak Detection Plan to be discussed.

Police/Liquor/ESDA

*The Ford Explorer needs about $3500.00 worth of repairs, they will put it up for sale.

*The new Truck should be delivered on the 16th, and they will come and put the camera’s in on the 17th.

*The police department will be at the High School on the 10th for Community Safety Day.

*The committee recommends not passing the BYOB Ordinance.

Ald. Baker made a motion to approve the BYOB Ordinance. A discussion followed . Ald. Burkholder seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ald. Havens “nay” Ald. Burkholder “nay”

Ald. Norton “nay” Ald. Baker “nay”

Ald. Yocum “aye” Ald. Coates “nay”

Where upon Mayor Wilt declared the motion was not carried.

Real Estate/Parks/Recreation

*Ald. Webb notified the Pool Board that the City would not be paying for their chemicals next year.

*The City website has been down for 2 weeks. Ald. Webb is working on getting it back up.

Engineering Report

*The Lead Service Line inventory revisions were sent in to the IEPA last week, before the September 1 deadline.

*An engineering report was sent to the EPA for the treatment plant.

Economic Development

*Next meeting September 30, 2024 @ 4:00

*The committee is looking into sound baffles for the Depot.

MAEDCO

*There is a group interested in the Dairy Queen.

*Enterprise meeting in October.

*October is Manufacturing month.

Attorney’s Report/ Ordinances & Resolutions

*City Attorney Nick Tinsman is working on the Water Tower contract dispute.

*Tinsman is also working on changing the fees for tickets and violations.

Ald. Allen made a motion to adjourn.

Meeting was adjourned at 6:30
