After a successful performance at the Drake Relays, Aliyah Adams from Western Illinois University has been recognized by the Ohio Valley Conference as the Female Co-Field Athlete of the Week.
Adams achieved a second-place finish in the Women's University/College Division with a long jump mark of 19 feet, 10.25 inches. She also secured third place in the Women's University/College Championship Division triple jump with a distance of 40-11.5.
Her long jump performance places her fourth all-time in Western Illinois' program history and second in the Ohio Valley Conference for this season.
The Western Illinois Leathernecks will compete next at the Iowa State Alumni Open on Friday. Field events are scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., followed by track events starting at 5 p.m.
