Western Illinois University's volleyball team concluded their regular season with a five-set loss to Eastern Illinois University. The Leathernecks finished the season with an 8-10 record in the Ohio Valley Conference.
In the first set, Western Illinois initially led with a 4-0 run but eventually fell behind as Eastern Illinois closed out the set on a 9-3 run, winning 25-18. The second set saw WIU take control midway through, ultimately securing a narrow 25-23 victory thanks to errors by EIU and a decisive kill by Grace Nichols.
The third set remained competitive until WIU pulled ahead with an Elizabeth Ziegler kill, taking the set 25-21. In the fourth set, WIU started strong but was overtaken by EIU's mid-set surge, losing 25-19.
The final set was closely contested. WIU managed to tie it at eight before EIU took control and won 15-10. Keyana Cruse led WIU with 17 kills and 21 digs, achieving a double-double. Brittany Wulf also contributed significantly with 11 kills. Maggie Craker recorded a double-double with 39 assists and 12 digs. Despite out-blocking EIU for the second consecutive night, WIU could not secure the win.
