Western Illinois and Eastern Illinois played to a scoreless draw in a key conference match on Tuesday night. The game was significant for both teams as they sought to improve their standings in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC). Eastern Illinois entered the match in seventh place, while Western Illinois was in tenth, with only the top eight teams securing spots in the OVC tournament.

Eastern had an early opportunity to score within the first three minutes but missed wide. Western responded with six shots in the opening 24 minutes, showing aggressive play. Despite their efforts, they were unable to break through Eastern's defense.

Hana Daoudi was instrumental in Western's attack, providing multiple crosses and navigating past defenders effectively. Coach Josée Primeau praised her performance, stating, "Hana has been a constant force throughout the fall, and her discipline and work ethic is unmatched." Daoudi played all ninety minutes and switched wings during the second half to aid Western's offensive efforts.

Sachiko Gamo also delivered one of her best performances of the season, playing full time and taking four shots on target. Although she didn't score, Coach Primeau commented on her contribution: "She has been really good for us this year. Sachi made a lot of good things happen today, and gave the offense some life."

Eastern increased their attacking pressure in the second half but couldn't capitalize due to Western's strong defensive play. In particular, Leatherneck goalkeeper Isabel Navas Rodriguez made seven saves during the match. The Panthers attempted two corner kicks in the final minute but failed to produce a shot on goal. Kayla Turner nearly scored with less than twenty seconds remaining, but her attempt narrowly missed.

The draw gives Western their fourth point of the OVC season with a record of 0-2-4 in conference play. Their next game is scheduled against SIUE in Edwardsville on Sunday.
