Western Illinois University Women's Tennis team earns ITA academic honors

The Western Illinois University Women's Tennis team has been recognized by the International Tennis Association (ITA) for their academic achievements during the 2024-25 season. The team earned ITA All-Academic Team Status, with a notable GPA of 3.73, which is the highest among Western Illinois athletic programs.

Four players from the tennis team achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA in the spring, while nine players maintained a GPA above 3.5 throughout the year. The ITA also honored nine players with Scholar-Athlete status for their dedication to academics: Aubrey Brumbaugh, Richardlyne Francois, Mana Fawcett, Paige Grice, Nour Gueblaoui, Denver Johnson, Chole Routier, Lara Rossetto Diniz de Souza, and Anna-Evelina Trush.

To qualify for ITA All-Academic Status, teams must have a GPA of at least 3.2 during the academic year. For individual ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition, players need to maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
