Western Illinois women's golf concludes fall season at Judson tournament

The Western Illinois Women's Golf team concluded their fall season by securing ninth place at The Judson tournament in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The team collectively scored 942 (+78), with their best performance occurring during the second round, where they shot a 298 (+10).

Leading the team was Gabriela Galindo Rubio, who finished tied for 24th with a score of 228 (+12). Rubio's performance in the second round included five birdies, four of which were on the front nine. She notably achieved consecutive birdies twice on holes two and three, as well as seven and eight, finishing that round at even par (72).

Looking ahead, the Leathernecks will resume competition in the spring season with events such as the OVC Championship and WIU Intercollegiate at TPC Deere Run.

Final scores for the tournament were: Gabriela Galindo Rubio +12 (T24), Olivia Kerr +22 (T37), Abby Hunter +24 (T44), Mia Scrimgeour +25 (46th), Sophia Thorne (IND) +33 (T54), and Olivia McCrystal +39 (58th).
