Western Illinois University Football concluded its inaugural season under Head Coach Joe Davis with a victory against Gardner-Webb, marking a significant achievement in the Big South-Ohio Valley Conference. The team emerged as an offensive leader within the conference, securing the top position in several categories including total offense, offensive touchdowns, first downs, third-down conversions, passing offense, and offensive efficiency.

On a national level, Western Illinois ranked sixth in passing offense and tied for ninth in first downs by the end of the regular season. These rankings underscore their strong performance on the field.

Two players from the Leathernecks distinguished themselves by leading individual conference statistics. Senior quarterback Nathan Lamb excelled by topping the Big South-OVC in total offense, passing efficiency, and quarterback rushing yards. Nationally, Lamb was seventh in passing yards and tenth in points responsible for while achieving second place in total offense.

Junior wide receiver Matt Henry also had an impressive season. He led the Big South-OVC in receiving yards and ranked third nationally in this category. His performance significantly contributed to the team's offensive success.

The Leathernecks achieved four wins this year, their highest since 2018. The team aims to build upon this year's offensive achievements as they prepare for future seasons.
