Western Illinois University's women's basketball team faced a challenging match against Cincinnati, resulting in their second loss of the season with a final score of 95-52. The Leathernecks showed strong performances in the first and third quarters, scoring 14 and 18 points respectively. Notable players included Raegan McCowan, who achieved a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, and Mia Nicastro, who also recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Addi Brownfield contributed eight points.

The team's struggle from beyond the arc was evident as they made only four out of 21 three-point attempts. Defensively, they managed to force ten turnovers during the game.

Cincinnati's effective shooting played a crucial role in their victory. They shot 45.2% from the floor (28-62) and had significant success at the free throw line, converting 31 out of 37 attempts (44%). The Bearcats' bench added to their advantage by contributing 20 points compared to Western Illinois' bench which scored 15.

Looking ahead, the Leathernecks are set to face St. Thomas next Saturday with tip-off scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
