Western Illinois University Athletics will hold auditions for a new public address announcer for its basketball teams. The event is scheduled for Thursday, October 30, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Western Hall in Macomb.
The person selected through these auditions will become the in-game voice for both the men's and women's basketball programs during the 2025–26 season. The role involves contributing to the game-day atmosphere for Leatherneck fans.
Participants in the audition process will be asked to read sample scripts and perform live introductions on the court at Western Hall. While prior announcing experience is not required, candidates are encouraged to have some familiarity with sports terminology and be comfortable using a microphone.
