The Western Illinois Track & Field team has signed five new recruits for their 2025 class, as announced on National Signing Day. The new additions include four distance runners and one relay runner.
Ellie Eastman, a 5'6" relay runner from Columbia, Missouri, attended David Hickman High School. She is a four-time Nicole Mello Award winner and was selected four times for All-District and All-Conference honors in high school. Eastman qualified for State individually every year during her high school career.
Among the distance runners are Terryan and Gloria Jemeli from Eldoret, Kenya. Terryan recorded times of 9:34 in the 3K and 16:31 in the 5K races, while Gloria achieved times of 9:45 in the 3K and 16:50 in the 5K.
Savannah Schaad, standing at 5'8", hails from Tell City, Indiana. Schaad was recognized as a three-time Most Valuable Distance Runner in high school and won the Most Valuable Runner award in Cross Country during her freshman year. She was also a four-time regional qualifier for cross country and named Conference MVP in track during her junior year.
Cassandra Brushaber from Minooka, Illinois is another addition to the team. She earned four Varsity Awards and qualified for the State Series four times. Brushaber placed among the top seven in State during her sophomore and junior years of high school. Her contributions helped her team secure four consecutive regional titles, three sectional titles, and two top-four finishes at State in Cross Country.
