Western Illinois University's football program has announced the addition of 22 new players to its roster for the 2025 season. The team welcomed a mix of transfers and preferred walk-ons, enhancing its depth across various positions.
WIU coach Joe Davis expressed enthusiasm about the incoming players, stating, "We are very excited to welcome this new group of Leathernecks to the WIU campus and community. Our coaching and support staff did an outstanding job of identifying and vetting these student athletes that very much want to help take WIU to the next level."
The new additions include standout players from different levels such as FBS, FCS, Division II, NAIA, Junior College, and Prep School ranks. Among them is wide receiver Fabo Báez from Stetson University, who made significant contributions during his tenure with 41 receptions for 514 yards last season.
