Western Illinois University showcased a strong offensive performance against Valparaiso, achieving an 11-7 victory in St. Charles, Missouri. The Leathernecks recorded 16 hits during the game, with a notable five-run fourth inning that established their lead.

RyLee German was instrumental in the win, going 2-for-4 and contributing a three-run home run along with four RBIs. Payton Brown added to the effort with a triple, while Ruby Tarr contributed two doubles and an RBI. Maria Luna also made significant contributions by driving in two runs on two hits.

The pitching team for Western Illinois, consisting of K. Green and K. McChristy, managed to handle Valparaiso's offensive attempts despite conceding seven runs. The Leathernecks' batting strength kept them ahead throughout the game.

Earlier in the day, Western Illinois faced off against Green Bay but suffered a 10-5 defeat. Despite efforts from Brown, who hit a two-run homer, and Kaylee Ketcherside's triple, they could not surpass Green Bay's 11-hit offense.

The results from Saturday leave Western Illinois with a season record of 4-10 as they aim to capitalize on their offensive momentum in upcoming tournament games.
