WIU has announced that Richardlyne Francois, a freshman member of their tennis team, has been named OVC Freshman of the Year. Francois closed her debut season with a singles record of 15 wins and 3 losses. She also completed the season with a 10-9 record in doubles play.
"Richie has been outstanding this year. Her increase in her level of play and confidence has been critical for the improvement of the team. This is just the start for her of a career with an incredibly bright future," commented Coach Luke Ogren.
The award highlights Francois's individual achievements and her significant role in the team's success. Her performance against experienced players promises a notable college tennis career.
