Schuyler County taxpayers paid $419,832 in Special County Retailers Occupation Tax in 2023, according to Illinois tax records.

This figure marks an increase over the year before when no taxes were collected.

The Special County Retailers Occupation Tax, a crucial revenue stream, is primarily allocated for county governments' use.

As of 2021, Illinois was the highest taxed state in the US. A study from Wallet Hub found Illinois taxes were 39.83% higher than the national average.
