The Ohio Valley Conference has announced its 2025 Baseball postseason awards, recognizing two players from the Leathernecks. Liam Bushey was named to the All-OVC Second Team as a utility player, while Kenneth Perez earned a spot on the All-OVC Freshman Team.
Bushey, who hails from Mission, British Columbia, led his team in several key offensive statistics this season. He posted a batting average of .340, with 65 hits and 38 RBIs. His total bases reached 86, and he maintained an OBP of .436. Throughout the season, Bushey played in 48 games and made starts at first base, right field, and designated hitter positions. His performance placed him among the top ten in the OVC for hits, batting average, and OBP.
Kenneth Perez was one of thirteen freshmen recognized by the OVC and one of three shortstops included on the All-Freshman Team list. In his debut collegiate season, Perez achieved a batting average of .268 with 48 hits. He also contributed 12 doubles, four home runs, and drove in 24 RBIs over 48 games. Defensively at shortstop, Perez recorded 70 putouts and led his team with 110 assists. He was tied for first on his team in double plays turned with nineteen.
Looking ahead to the next season in 2026, the Leathernecks aim to build upon the achievements of both Bushey and Perez.
