Western Illinois University's Women's Tennis team has announced the addition of Maarja Leinstrep to its 2025 class. Head coach Luke Ogren expressed enthusiasm about the new recruit, stating, "Maarja is an aggressive player that will be a strong addition to the lineup in singles and doubles. Her level has been increasing quickly recently and we expect to continue that progress here. We are excited to have her join us and help us do great things in the OVC!"

Leinstrep hails from Tallinn, Estonia, where she played for over five years with the EKSM tennis club. She joins Western Illinois following a successful season for the program, which recorded its most wins since 2018.

In choosing Western Illinois University (WIU), Leinstrep cited the institution's culture and environment as key factors. "It is the best fit for me and I'm honored to attend this school," she said.
