City of Bushnell City Council met July 7.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Norton called the meeting to order

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

*City Treasurer Betsy Rench stated the auditors will be here next week to do the annual audit

Consent Agenda

Ald. Havens made a motion to approve the consent agenda which includes.

Approval of Minutes from June 16, 2025

Approve May Financial report

Approve and Pay June Bills

Ald. Burkholder seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ald. Fowler “aye” Ald. Allen “aye”

Ald. Havens “aye” Ald. Burkholder “aye”

Ald. Ford “aye” Ald. Ellis absent

Where upon Mayor Norton declared the motion carried

Ad hoc (Mayor’s Report)

*Mayor Norton commented on how well the fireworks went and thanked the police dept., Fire department and the street department for all their help.

Personnel/Finance/Budget

Ald. Havens made a motion to hire Ryan Ludlum in the gas department. Ald. Allen seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ald. Allen “aye” Ald. Fowler “aye”

Where upon Mayor Norton declared the motion carried

*The council agreed by general consensus to send Mason Havens to Lineman’s school

Public Works

Ald. Havens made a motion to move forward with repairs to the Water Tower. Ald. Burkholder seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ald. Havens “aye” Ald. Burkholder “aye”

Ald. Ford “aye” Ald. Ellis absent

Ald. Yocum absent Ald. Promisson “aye”

*Washington Street Project Pre-Construction meeting will be at IMEG’s office on Thursday, July 17th at 9:00

Ald. Promisson made a motion to purchase a new EMD generator for 1.5 million. Ald. Allen seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ald. Havens made a motion to pay up to $80,000 for Engineering Services for the Washington Street project. Ald. Allen seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:
