City of Bushnell City Council met Aug. 4.

Mayor Norton called the meeting to order

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

Consent Agenda

Ald. Yocum made a motion to approve the consent agenda which includes.

Approval of Minutes from July 21, 2025

Approve June financial report

Approve and Pay July bills

Ald. Havens seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ad hoc (Mayor’s Report)

*Mayor Norton warned the council about Spam emails.

Personnel/Finance/Budget

Ald. Havens made a motion to make Chaney Ferguson the Gas Foreman with a $2.00 per hr. raise. Ald. Allen seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Public Works

*Greg Fulkerson and Kent Cox went over the problem with the East Lagoon. Sludge samples from the first cell will help plan what needs to be next.

*Washington Street Project, 5 houses will need LEAD service replaced, Laverdiere has submitted a bid at $7,000 ea. Total $35,000.

*LEAD line Service , Apply for third grant of $40,000 for Residential Survey, IMEG will forward Paperwork for Grant.

Police/Liquor/ESDA

Ald. Burkholder made a motion to approve a liquor license for the Fall Festival committee. Ald. Yocum seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

*The council agreed with general consensus to sell a decommissioned police car

*Chief Hood stated he has a person doing community service that is spraying weeds around town, and picking up the parks.

*The council agreed with general consensus that Chief Hood could purchase Fatal Vision Goggles with DARE Donations.

Economic Development

Ald. Allen made a motion to approve the purchase of appliances for the Depot from M&B. Ald. Yocum seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:
