McDonough County Building & Grounds/Elms Committee met Aug. 12.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, 3rd floor, Law Library. Committee Members in attendance included, Chair Larry Aurelio, Vice Chair Terra Litchfield, Dustin Berg, Dave Cortelyou, Mike Cox, Vicky Kipling, Clayton Murphy, and Dana Walker. Others in attendance included Elms Administrator Jeff Howd, Deputy Clerk Kyah Beck and County Clerk Jeremy Benson.

Chair Larry Aurelio called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Review and Approval of July, 2025 Minutes

Member Walker moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Farm Report

None.

Administrator’s Report

Census is at 74, with 20 being private-pay. Medicare currently owes $201,822.15. There were 8 admissions, and 10 discharges.

Financial Report

Member Litchfield moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve the July, 2025 Financial Reports. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Elms Claims

Member Cox moved with a second by Member Litchfield to approve the Elm’s claims as submitted. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 8 yeas, 0 nays, 0 vacant and 0 absent.

Macomb Public Building Commission

No Report.

McDonough County Maintenance Directors Report

Chad Wilson was absent. No Report.

Building and Grounds Claims

Member Kipling moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve the July, 2025 Building and Grounds Claims. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Other Items as Needed

Employee appreciation lunch will be held Thursday, August 14, at the McDonough County Courthouse.

Executive Session

None.

Public Comment

An elevator update is scheduled for next year and will be a six-week project. The 200-year bicentennial of the McDonough County Courthouse will take place in January 2026. Several Board members expressed a want for the celebration to recognize every town in the county.

County Board Chair Comments

None.

Adjourn

Member Litchfield moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to adjourn the meeting at 7:31 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
