Western Illinois University women's basketball player Addi Brownfield has been accepted into the University of Missouri School of Medicine as a member of the Class of 2030.
Brownfield, who is majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry and psychology, achieved a 513 MCAT score, which places her in the 78th percentile. She also holds a cumulative GPA of 3.98. These results are above the averages for incoming students at Missouri's medical school, whose class typically averages a 3.84 GPA and a 511 MCAT score.
The University of Missouri School of Medicine reported receiving over 3,000 applications for its Class of 2029, but fewer than 150 students were admitted. Brownfield was accepted through the Early Decision program.
Alongside her academic work and role as a Division I athlete, Brownfield has experience as a home health aide and tutor. She has volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters, participated in undergraduate research within the psychology department, served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and completed more than 100 hours shadowing physicians.
