John A. Mackenzie Alumni Soccer Field | Western Illinois University Leathernecks
Western Illinois University’s women’s soccer team lost 5-0 to Southeast Missouri State in an Ohio Valley Conference match held Thursday at John MacKenzie Alumni Field. Southeast Missouri State scored early and maintained control for much of the game, converting several opportunities to secure the victory.
Despite the defeat, Western Illinois managed stretches of possession and created some attacking chances but could not score. The team continued to rely on contributions from younger players as it seeks to build experience during the conference season.
The Leathernecks will aim to recover in their next OVC match.
