Western Illinois cross country to compete at Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria

The Western Illinois University cross country team is set to participate in the Bradley Pink Classic this Friday at Newman Golf Course in Peoria, Illinois. The event, scheduled for October 17, will feature a competitive field with top programs from both men's and women's divisions.

Last week, Western Illinois competed at the Joe Piane Invitational. In the women's 5K Gold Race, Lydia Bennett led the team with a personal best of 18:06.2, placing 23rd overall. Aylana Cezar also achieved a personal record with a time of 18:25.9, while Emma-Kate Watt finished in 19:10.2 for another personal best. Aurora Dominguez and Deana Hudson contributed times of 19:17.3 and 19:08.2, respectively, helping the women's team secure 12th place.

In the men's 8K Gold Race, Robert Perry was the top finisher for Western Illinois with a time of 24:56.4, placing in the top 25. Logan Beckmier followed at 25:33.0, while Brody Harker and Evan Eberhart set new personal records with times of 26:13.5 and 26:56.1. Eason Comer and Richard Brown rounded out the team effort.

The race schedule for the Bradley Pink Classic includes the Women's White Division (6K) at 12:45 p.m., Men's Red Division (8K) at 1:30 p.m., and Women's Red Division (6K) at 2:15 p.m. Parking will be available at the Newman Golf Course Clubhouse and the Cornstock Theatre in Bradley Park.

After the Bradley Pink Classic, Western Illinois will prepare for the OVC Conference Meet.
