The Western Illinois University men's soccer team will play against the University of Southern Indiana in a conference match on Thursday, October 16. The game will take place at John A. Mackenzie Alumni Soccer Field and is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. CT. Fans can watch the match live on ESPN+.

Western Illinois enters the contest with a record of 3-9-2 overall and 1-2-2 in Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) play. The team is seeking to recover from a recent 1–0 loss on the road to Houston Christian, where both teams registered 12 shots each. Junior forward Joel McIntyre and junior Xavier Gagnon led Western Illinois's offense, while senior goalkeeper Micah Ramirez made three saves.

Southern Indiana arrives with a record of 2-7-3 overall and 1-1-3 in OVC matches. The Screaming Eagles are unbeaten in their last four games, including a recent 2–2 draw at home against SIUE. In that match, Southern Indiana came back from a two-goal deficit with goals from Kadiri Bello and David Davila; Davila scored his third goal of the week and fifth of the season. Freshman goalkeeper Jacob English made seven saves during the comeback.

Thursday’s game will be the sixth meeting between Western Illinois and Southern Indiana, with the all-time series currently tied at two wins each and one draw. Western Illinois won their last matchup in Macomb by a score of 2–0.
