Western Illinois University Athletics will hold auditions to find a new public address announcer for the upcoming basketball season. The auditions are scheduled for Monday, October 21, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Western Hall in Macomb, Illinois.
The person selected will be responsible for serving as the in-game announcer for both the men’s and women’s basketball teams during the 2025–26 season. According to the department, this role is important in creating an engaging game-day environment for fans.
Participants at the auditions will be asked to read sample scripts and perform live introductions on the court at Western Hall. While previous experience is not required, the department notes that "familiarity with sports terminology and comfort on the microphone are encouraged."
