As people throughout Illinois prepare to ring in the New Year, the Senate Republican Caucus is continuing to highlight new laws that will take effect on January 1.
A new law sponsored by Rep. Norine K. Hammond (R-93) that was introduced with the purpose of amending the Volunteer Emergency Worker Higher Education Protection Act went into effect on Dec. 20, according to the official Illinois General Assembly website.
