Southeastern Community Unit School District # 337 Board of Education met Dec. 18.

Call to Order and Roll Call

The Southeastern Community Unit District #337 Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, December 18, 2017 in the Board of Education Office in Augusta, Illinois. John Eilers, Board President, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

Approval of Agenda Items

On a motion by Member Bruenger and a second by Member O’Neal, the Board of Education approved the agenda items as presented.

Roll Call Vote:

Aye: Bruenger, Eilers, Holst, O’Neal, Smith, Tippey, Winters

Nay: None

Absent: None

Motion Carried

On a motion by Member Tippey and a second by Member Smith, the Board of Education opened the public hearing on the 2017 Truth in Taxation Hearing at 6:39 p.m.

Roll Call Vote:

Aye: Eilers, Holst, O’Neal, Smith, Tippey, Winters, Bruenger

Nay: None

Absent: None

Motion Carried

On a motion by Member Smith and a second by Member O’Neal, the Board of Education closed the public hearing on the 2017 Truth in Taxation Hearing at 6:45 p.m.

Aye: Holst, O’Neal, Smith, Tippey, Winters, Bruenger, Eilers

Nay: None

Absent: None

Motion Carried

On a motion by Member Smith and a second by Member Tippey, the Board of Education adopted the 2017 Tax Levy request as presented in the amount of $2,760,263.

Approval of Minutes

On a motion by Member Winters and a second by Member Smith, the Board of Education approved the minutes\ from the November 27, 2017 regular meeting and closed session as presented.

Nay: None

Public Participation

Special Recognition

Superintendent Fox presented the update on the Board Excellence site: Quincy Herald Whig Volleyball 1st team\and ILMEA All-State Choir.

Financial

Superintendent Fox presented the monthly financial snapshot showing we are 42% into the fiscal year. We have received 65% of our budgeted revenue and have spent 39% of budgeted expenditures.

On a motion by Member Bruenger and a second by Member O’Neal, the Board of Education approved the bills, financial statements, and activity funds.

Informational Items

Superintendent Fox presented the 2017 RIF Joint Annual Committee Agreement.

Superintendent Fox discussed the Cooperative Sports Agreements.

Superintendent Fox reviewed the current banking agreement.

Administrative reports were given with Mr. Kerr reporting on the attendance policy change with the attendance rate comparable to last year. A new online program allows transcripts to be sent securely to colleges.

Action Items

The bus lease to purchase was tabled to a future date.

On a motion by Member Smith and a second by Member O’Neal, the Board of Education accepted the resignation of Kara Twaddell in the position of 5/6 grade volleyball assistant coach effective immediately.

On a motion by Member Tippey and a second by Member Winters, the Board of Education accepted the resignation of Jordan Harris in the position of junior high girls head basketball coach effective at the end of the 2017-2018 school year.

Adjournment

On a motion by Member Bruenger and a second by Member O’Neal, the Board of Education voted to adjourn the meeting at 7:48 p.m.
