Report: Hamilton spent $8,625 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Hamilton Community Consolidated School District 328 is up 7 percent from five years ago, according to a West Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Hancock County school district spent $8,026 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,625 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 576 to 600.

Hamilton's spending in 2016-17 was 34 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
