Report: Warsaw spent $8,103 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Warsaw Community Unit School District 316 is down 13 percent from five years ago, according to a West Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Hancock County school district spent $9,354 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,103 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 460 to 427.

Warsaw's spending in 2016-17 was 38 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
