Report: Hamilton spent $9,041 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Hamilton Community Consolidated School District 328 is up 3 percent from five years ago, according to a West Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Mcdonough County school district spent $8,806 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,041 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 827 to 716.

Hamilton's spending in 2016-17 was 30 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
