Laharpe Fire Protection District responded to 16 calls in 2017 - 6.7 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Laharpe included 16 fires - seven structure fires and nine other fires.

In all, the department saw $37,100 in fire loss - or about $2,319 per fire.

The Laharpe Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $175,775 in 2017.
