Q1 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Schuyler County?

There were nine offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in Schuyler County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by West Central Reporter.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Schuyler County were men. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 51. The youngest parolee was a 27-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2013, and the oldest was a 76-year-old man sentenced for a crime against one or more children in 2006.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Dean Spetnagel. He was convicted of a sex crime in 1991 when he was 32 years old. He is now 60.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter in each Schuyler County municipality.
