Q2 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Schuyler County?

There were six offenders released on parole during the second quarter that live in Schuyler County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by West Central Reporter.

The data shows that five men and one woman were released in Schuyler County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 56. The youngest parolee was a 46-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2015, and the oldest was a 64-year-old woman sentenced for a property crime in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Leon Snipes. He was convicted of a sex crime in 1997 when he was 35 years old. He is now 58.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter in each Schuyler County municipality.
