July-Dec. 2018 Recap: Parolees in Rushville convicted of crimes against children

There were seven offenders convicted of crimes against children released on parole in Rushville during the second half of 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the West Central Reporter.

The data shows that seven men were among the parolees. Of the parolees sentenced for crimes against children, one is a veteran, and the median age is 42. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced in 2016, and the oldest was a 63-year-old man sentenced in 2010.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Ruben Soberal. He was convicted of a crime against one or more children in 2010 when he was 54 years old. He is now 63.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders during the second half of 2018 who were convicted of crimes against children.
