McDonough County ESDA & Claims Committee met May 14.

The ESDA & Claims Committee held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, 3rd Floor Law Library. Committee Members present were Chairman Scott Schwerer, Vice Chairman Letha Clark, Joe Erlandson, Dick Marcott, Julie Melvin, Dave Nissen, and Trevor Toland. Committee Member Tessa Pfafman was absent. Also present was Edgar Rodriguez, Patrick Stout, County Vice Chairman Mike Cox, County Chairman George Dixon, and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes.
Chairman Scott Schwerer called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Approval of April 16, 2019 Minutes
Member Melvin moved with a second by Member Nissen to approve the April 16, 2019 minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
ESDA Director Report
Director Edgar Rodriguez gave the report. He has been working with the Health Department putting together a 3 year plan, the first official meeting will be held in September. The focus is on long term care facilities, it is a mandate that long term care facilities have a plan.
Rodriguez will be attending several conferences in the next few months and will be out of town for the meeting next month, so Derek Carle will be attending the meeting next month in his place. The ESDA office has weather radios available for citizens that cannot afford them. WGEM and ESDA will be at HyVee on Tuesday, May 21from 5:00-6:30 p.m. to program weather radios. 911 had an outing on Sunday that was affecting 911 calls being made from cell phones, this affected approximately 12 counties.
Approval of Claims
Member Toland moved with a second by Member Clark to approve the claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Other
County Board Chairman held a discussion on how the County pays County Board Member claims.
Member Erlandson moved with a second by Member Trimmer to adjourn the meeting. With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 7:43 p.m.
