McDonough County Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met June 11.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

The Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the Elms. Committee members in attendance included Chairman Larry Aurelio, Marcia Twaddle, Dave Cortelyou, Terra Litchfield, Bob Mahr, and Paul Trimmer. Committee members Lee Calvert and County Chairman George Dixon were absent. Others in attendance included Patrick Stout, Allen Sheffler, Elms Administrator Tim Bledsoe, and Committee Secretary Stacey Alexander.

Chairman Aurelio called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Review and Approval of May 14, 2019 Minutes

Member Trimmer moved with second by Member Mahr to approve the May 14, 2019 minutes. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Farm Report

No report.

Administrator’s Report

Elms Administrator Tim Bledsoe gave the report. Census is at 75, with 10 being skilled, 22 private pay. Medicaid owes $523,027.08, but did receive $250,000. In May there were 15 admissions and 18 discharges. Bledsoe stated that he is working on a contract with Rehab Co. Ice Cream social was held on June 9, 2019.

Financial Report

Member Litchfield moved with a second by Member Trimmer to approve the May 2019 Financial Reports. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Elms Claims

Member Trimmer moved with a second by Member Mahr to approve the Elm’s claims. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 6 yeas, 0 nays, 1 vacant and 1 absent.

Macomb Public Building Commission

No report.

Zahrn Building

No report.

McDonough County Maintenance Directors Report

Allen Sheffler gave the Maintenance report, stating that there was a water leak in the County Clerk’s office from the upstairs bathroom. Plaster work is needed to complete the repairs on the water leak. A tree was taken down on the northwest side, due to a limb coming down, also have a tree to replace. Floors have been waxed and polished and elevators have been checked. Grounds are currently being cleaned for Heritage Days. Terra Litchfield stated to the committee, Circuit Clerk Kim Wilson and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes would pay to work on the lactation room on the third floor to make it appear that it belongs there. Circuit Clerk Kim Wilson will also furnish the room. Allen Sheffler is to contact Sheriff Nick Petitgout on the repairs of the room.

Building and Grounds Claims

Member Mahr moved with a second by Member Twaddle to approve the May Building and Grounds Claims. Motion carried on a voice vote

Member Cortelyou moved and Member Mahr with a second to adjourn the meeting at 7:30 p.m.
