Mcdonough County Road & Bridge Committee met Oct. 3.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

The McDonough County Road and Bridge Committee held their monthly meeting on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Third Floor, Law Library. Committee Members present included Chair Trevor Toland, Vice Chair David Cortelyou, Rod McGrew, Scott Schwerer, Mike Cox and Marcia Twaddle. Committee Member Dick Marcott was absent.

Other persons present included: Engineer Rick Walker, Scott Hance and Stacey Alexander as Committee Secretary.

Chair Trevor Toland called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.

Review & Approve September 5, 2019 Minutes

Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Twaddle to approve the September 5, 2019 minutes. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Project Update

Engineer Rick Walker gave report. Sugar Creek Bridge has an estimate of $1.4 million. County Aid for the Bridge Certification is done.

County Aid to Bridge Certifications for Project #1941-14

Engineer Walker told the Committee that this is something that should just be brought up at the Road and Bridge meetings, that he had spoke with other Engineers in other counties and they never went to County Board. Also this had already been approved previously and it was complete.

County Aid to Bridge Certifications for Project #1945-13-$10,500

Member Twaddle motioned to approve County Aid to Bridge Certifications for Project #1945-13-$10,500, seconded by Member McGrew. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Teamster Contract

Teamsters are ready to meet.

September Work Report

Report given by Dave Cadwalader.

Claims

Member Schwerer moved with a second by Member McGrew to approve the claims submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Other Business

Member McGrew asked about the wind farm. Engineer Walker explained everything is only for construction, the speed limits and such, that it wasn’t for regular traffic.

Chair Dixon explained to the Committee that they have received 30 plus resumes for the new position, and Friday is the last day to apply. They are anxious to get that done.

Chair Toland also said that Carol was gone and himself, Rick and Mike Cox will be conducting interviews.

Member Schwerer asked about 700 West off of St Francis Blacktop, Engineer Walker said yes, something will be done.

Adjourn

With no further business to discuss, Member Cortelyou moved to adjourn the meeting, second by Member McGrew at 7:28 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
