Scott and Morgan Counties Community Unit School District #2 Board of Education met Feb. 18.

The Board of Education of Community Unit School District #2 of Scott and Morgan Counties met in Regular Session at 7:00 p.m. at the Superintendent’s Office at Bluffs School.
President, Gary Westermeyer, called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm with the following members answering roll call: Ben Quade, DeWayne Hart, Gary Westermeyer, Shelly Tweedy, April Coats, and Matt Smith. Terry Kunkel was absent.
Erin Wahl was present.
DeWayne Hart made the motion to approve consent agenda which included approval of minutes of previous meetings, monthly bills, financial reports, and payroll. Shelly Tweedy seconded the motion. Yea: Ben Quade, Shelly Tweedy. Matt Smith, Gary Westermeyer, April Coats, and DeWayne Hart. Nay: none Motion carried.
Mr Blankenship updated the Board on the recent drug policy and building committee meetings. Shelly Tweedy shared from her Four Rivers meeting.
Mr. Blankenship did not have a superintendent’s report since it was basically the update on the committee meetings.
Mr. Kuhlmann, reported on upcoming motivational speakers and state testing.
Mr. Blankenship shared the financials to date and the cafeteria report.
Shelly Tweedy at 8:01 made the motion to go into executive session for the purpose of employment, hiring, termination of prospective or current employees (personnel) and to review executive session minutes. Ben Quade seconded the motion. Yea: Ben Quade, Shelly Tweedy. Matt Smith, Gary Westermeyer, April Coats and DeWayne Hart. Nay: none Motion carried
At 8:29 pm DeWayne Hart made the motion to reconvene as regular session. Matt Smith seconded the motion. Yea: Ben Quade, Shelly Tweedy. Matt Smith, Gary Westermeyer, April Coats and DeWayne Hart. Nay: none Motion carried
Ben Quade made the motion to approve the Personnel report as presented, consisting of renewing Ann Hill, speech teacher, contract for 2020-2021 and accepting the resignation of Jodie Degroot, Junior High Girls Basketbal Coach. Matt Smith seconded the motion. Yea: Ben Quade, Shelly Tweedy, Matt Smith, Gary Westermeyer, April Coats and DeWayne Hart. Nay: none Motion carried.
Shelly Tweedy made the motion to keep executive minutes from July 2019 – December 2019 closed. April Coats seconded the motion. Yea: Ben Quade, Shelly Tweedy, Matt Smith, Gary Westermeyer, April Coats and DeWayne Hart. Nay: none Motion carried.
DeWayne Hart made the motion to adjourn at 8:30 pm. Ben Quade seconded the motion. Yea: Ben Quade, Shelly Tweedy, Matt Smith, Gary Westermeyer, April Coats and DeWayne Hart. Nay: none Motion carried
