Hancock County EMS Director Committee met March 10.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

The special committee to hire a EMS Director met in the County Board Room at 5:00pm. Member present were Janet Fleming, Chairwoman, Mark Menn, Bryan Stevens, Mark Hanson Delbert Kreps, Chairman of the Board. Also attending were EMS members Levi Winters and Blake Austin.

Janet stated that she had four resumes so far and the deadline is March 17, 2020. Tonight, she would like to set some dates to interview, discuss the pay and gave everyone a copy of the job description and the candidates

After everyone read the job description a motion was made by Bryan Stevens to accept it with the change of preferred bachelor's degree. Mark Hanson seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried.

The members then discussed if this should be a full-time position and what they should offer for a salary to figures if it is a benefit package deal, the retirement, insurance and paid holidays. Mark Menn stated to promote this as a full-time position with the benefit package or retirement, insurance and paid holidays with a range of $40,000.00 to $50,00.00. Bryan Stevens seconded the motion. All voted aye.

Levi suggested they should talk to Pike County as they are about our size and they are making good money with two ambulances for the County and one that only does transfers. Some of the members stated they were against the transfers.

The members discussed setting a calendar of when to interview. They finally stated they would see how many resumes they had by the 17th and then after to full board meeting pick three and call them in to interview on March 30th, for forty-five minutes and then pick one or two for seconded interviews.

Having nothing else to discuss a motion was made by Mark Menn to recess until March 17, 2020 after the full board meeting. Bryan Stevens seconded the motion. All voted aye.
