9 McDonough County residents in their seventies test positive for COVID-19

As of June 2, there have been nine McDonough County residents in their seventies who have tested positive for COVID-19, according to numbers being reported to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

There have been 183 residents in their seventies in the county who had been tested, meaning that four percent of those tested have the coronavirus. Through June 2, there have been 91 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 13 deaths from the coronavirus in McDonough County.

Illinois gathers all of its COVID-19 data from across the state electronically. The reported cases and deaths will fluctuate as additional info is gathered. Chicago was home to one of the first known cases of COVID-19 in the US, as well as it's transmission.
