Hancock County EMS Director Committee met May 4.

Meeting was called to order at 8:45 a.m.
Present: Janet Fleming, Terrie Griffin, Mark Hanson, Jenny Meeks. Mark Menn entered the meeting at 9:00 a.m. Absent Bryan Stevens.
Purpose: Interview Jenny Meeks for EMS Dirctor position.
The covid 19 virus stay at home restriction delayed our process for interviwing. Our committee had chosen three applicants, of the six submitted, to interview for the EMS director position.
Our committee called the three applicants for interviews today, and two applicants decided that they did not want to interview, due to the full time temporary position we were offering. We are pursuing a bid process to privatize our EMS service, and this could eliminate the director position in early 2021.
Jenny distributed an updated resume to our committee with reference letters. Our committee asked Jenny to tell us about herself, and her desire for our position. After much interaction and discussion we asked Jenny to step outside to another room. Our committee was in full agreement to offer Jenny the position of EMS Director at the top of end of our scale,($50,000),with the understanding no health insurance will be necessary.
On May 12, 2020, at our Health and Misc committee, Jenny Meeks will be introduced with our recommendation to hire her as our EMS Director. If Health and Misc Committee recommends to full board and full board approves the hiring of Jenny Meeks at their May 19 meeting, then Jenny will start May 20th 2020.
