Hancock County Finance, Fees and Salaries Committee met June 11.

The Finance, Fees and Salaries Committee met in the County Board Room at 9:00 am. Members present were Wayne Bollin, Chairman, Bryan Stevens, Mark Menn, Steve Bolton, Janet Fleming, Harry Douglas, and Delbert Kreps, Chairman of the Board. Absent was Mark Hanson.
Wayne called the meeting to order and stated he had talked to Keith Krohe and he will be here next month with a report but everything is going really good.
Wayne also stated that Bruce Belashmit with Bellweather informed him that he has a packet from each department and will be here June 24th and 25th to meet with each office and go over it with them. Everything is going good but not sure of Sales Tax yet, the Highway Dept. and the Health Department due to Grants they get. Will come to our July 9th Meeting and update us and then come back in August and go over the entire budget. Will still have the Treasurers office give us a copy of the budget blank pages of the Budget for the Finance Committee to use.
Tom Rodger gave an update on the Down State loans and what was being done next. He passed out a resolution to be passed for the Funding and also a resolution for the Fair Housing. The members discussed these loans at great length and how if was going to be handled and how the funds would be kept tract of.
A motion for a Resolution for the County Board to Support the Downstate Funding was made by Bryan Stevens to go to the full board for approval. Janet Fleming seconded the motion. Motion carried with four voting ayes and two abstained and no nays.
A motion was made by Harry Douglas for the Fair Housing resolution and seconded by Steve Bolton. All voted aye. Motion carried.
Each one of these resolutions will have to go with the applications for the down state funding applications after the County Board Meeting.
Wayne discussed that there was a notice in the paper about the Down State Transportation and they have a New Director Laurie Sutton. He stated he assumed she would come to the next committee meeting with some information.
Kris Pilkington, County Treasurer entered the meeting and stated the taxes were coming in very well and the Audit is basically done. She did bring up a draft copy of the audit for the members to look at.
Seventy-eight claims were reviewed by the members. After reviewing a motion was made by Mark Menn to present to the full Board for payment. Harry Douglas seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried
Janet Fleming inform the members that Mike Wright did bring up a proposal to get the dog pound fixed up for $11,900. And he does have some donations to go towards this, He does have a contractor to do this and does have some good recommendation on him. Janet explained that the Ambulance is doing
very good at tis time and Rachael Mast hasn't had time to get with Life Guard on any kind of proposal for running the ambulance. She has had her hands full with a VOIA and Mark Menn stated he thought the VOIA should come through the Board Members first before going to the States Attorney,
Having nothing further to discuss a motion was made by Steve Bolton to recess until July 9, 2020 at 9:00am. Bryan Stevens seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried.
